Borealis Maritime’s offshore vessel arm, Aurora Offshore, has secured long-term employment for one of its platform supply vessels.
Brokers report the 2021-built Aurora Cooper fixed to Harbour Energy for six months plus multiple extension options, with the charter starting this month.
Dayrates for the LNG dual-fuel battery hybrid unit, which will support the semisubmersible rig Transocean Norge on Harbour Energy’s drilling campaign in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, have not been disclosed.
The PSV joined the Kristiansand-based outfit, which commercially manages around 25 OSVs, together with the sister vessel Aurora Coey.
Borealis, in partnership with Cyprus-based owner and shipping fund manager Pelagic Partners, bought Christen Sveaas’ Swedish OSV player Viking Supply Ships out of both PSV last year.
In related news, offshore chartering sources report Island Offshore’s 2012-built PSV Island Contender fixed to Harbour Energy to support the same rig for about 220 days from January. The deal with the Norwegian OSV owner includes up to 18 months of options.
