WiseTech Global gains COO accreditation

WiseTech Global has been accredited by JASANZ (Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand) to issue Preferential Certificates of Origin (COO) for Australian exports.

The new digital process enables exporters to apply 24/7, with WiseTech’s CargoWise platform validating shipment data in real time. This allows COOs to be issued within minutes instead of hours or days, reducing rejections and improving trade efficiency.

Michael Kheirabi, Digital Documents Portfolio Leader at WiseTech Global, said:
“Given Australia has 18 agreements with over 20 countries, and more underway, the demand for Preferential Certificates of Origin is already high and likely to increase. CargoWise is uniquely positioned to connect exporters, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies to enable greater automation, reduce manual intervention and provide 24/7 accessibility.”

Kheirabi added:
“Certificates of Origin are often issued by Chambers of Commerce, but they don’t have the ability to automatically validate data in the context of executing the movement of goods the way our solution does. Speed is essential when you’re dealing with perishable cargo or avoiding fines for late departures. WiseTech’s new COO solution disrupts the industry norm, improving the speed and efficiency for Australian exporters.”

The accreditation extends WiseTech’s digital COO services already available in New Zealand, further strengthening its role in modernizing customs documentation and compliance across the region.
