RS South Africa has named Vivashan Muthan as its new Head of Export Sales and Operations. He will lead the company’s export business across Sub-Saharan Africa, taking charge of revenue, profit, distributor growth, and customer experience.
Muthan has built his career in engineering, sales, and business development. He has held senior roles at Fluke Corporation, SICK Sensor Intelligence, Siemens, and Timken, where he managed regional sales teams, distribution channels, and large operations. His track record spans industries such as rail, automotive, and industrial automation.
He holds a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and an MSc in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand. He is pursuing a PhD in Industrial Engineering with a focus on intelligent industrial ecosystems. Muthan is also a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng), a Harvard Business School alumnus, and a certified ontological coach.
At RS, he plans to scale export operations by aligning operational excellence with customer needs. His goal is to position RS as a trusted partner in delivering Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) solutions and building long-term partnerships across African markets.
