Kuehne+Nagel has opened its first independent office and warehouse in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland. The team of 13 specialists will provide sea and air logistics, along with customs solutions, supporting Iceland’s growing import and export sectors.

Helgi Ingólfsson, Cluster Manager for Sweden and Iceland, said: “Iceland is a high-potential market. This fully independent operation allows us to help customers navigate and optimize their supply chains while integrating them into our global network.”

Valdimar Óskarsson, Managing Director for Iceland, added: “Together with my team, we look forward to strengthening Iceland’s trade, particularly in general cargo and perishables.”

The office will offer Less-than-Container-Load (LCL) and Full-Container-Load (FCL) services from Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Export efforts will focus on reefer containers to meet the needs of Iceland’s fish farming industry. Air logistics services will connect farmed fish and other perishable goods to global markets via London, Amsterdam, and Liège.

Kuehne+Nagel aims to become Iceland’s leading freight forwarder within five years.
