Dutch owner and operator ForestWave has expanded its footprint in the European multipurpose and dry bulk markets by taking over all activities and staff of Rotterdam-based Noordriver Shipping.
The Groningen-headquartered company confirmed the deal took effect on October 1, following years of cooperation between the two firms. Noordriver’s brokerage, chartering, and port agency operations will continue as before but under the ForestWave name.
Noordriver has specialised in brokerage for dry bulk, project, and heavy lift cargoes, working tonnage ranging from coasters to ultramax bulkers, alongside running port agency services in Rotterdam.
ForestWave, founded in 2003, operates a fleet of about 30 multipurpose vessels of 5,000–12,500 dwt, mainly in European and Atlantic trades.
The company said the integration of Noordriver will strengthen its service offering, combining the Rotterdam team’s local expertise with ForestWave’s fleet operations and international network. All Noordriver staff are moving across to ForestWave, which became part of the compatriot Spliethoff Group last year.
