Fincantieri and TUI Cruises, a joint venture of TUI AG and Royal Caribbean, have signed a contract for two new cruise ships, replacing the March 2025 MoA with TUI AG for Marella Cruises.
The new vessels, sister ships to Mein Schiff Relax and Mein Schiff Flow of the InTUItion class, will be delivered in 2031 and 2032. Each ship will have a gross tonnage of about 160,000 and feature dual-fuel engines (LNG and MGO) built to the latest environmental standards.
The contract value, subject to financing, exceeds the original Marella deal but stays within the financial threshold announced in March.
Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO of Fincantieri, said the agreement strengthens the partnership with TUI Cruises and demonstrates Fincantieri’s ability to deliver innovative, sustainable ships for leading operators.
