SCGJWD Logistics, ASEAN’s largest integrated logistics provider, is ramping up investment in its cold storage business, extending its reach beyond CLMV + China to Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore. The move strengthens its position as a leading Cold Chain Hub in the region.
Co-CEO Bunn Kasemsup said the expansion targets high-growth ASEAN markets and responds to rising demand for temperature-controlled logistics. SCGJWD already operates nationwide in Indonesia through PT SCG Barito Logistics and is developing joint ventures to expand cold storage capacity. In the Philippines, it partners with Royal Cargo, while in Malaysia, it has teamed up with Swift Haulage Berhad to build three major cold storage facilities in Shah Alam, Johor Bahru, and Penang.
The company is also enhancing services in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand, where it is investing in ten new cold storage warehouses across six provinces, with plans to expand to Surat Thani and Khon Kaen.
SCGJWD aims to make cold storage and temperature-controlled transport a key growth driver. Market data shows strong momentum, with Indonesia’s cold storage market forecast to grow nearly 80% by 2027, and significant increases expected across other ASEAN countries.
