The developing Red Sea Container Terminal at Sokhna has accepted delivery of its second shipment consisting of three ship-to-shore gantry cranes manufactured by ZPMC, establishing a total of six quay cranes at the facility.
The terminal is being operated under a joint venture comprising Hutchison Port (50%), CoscoSP (25%), and CMA CGM (25%).
The cranes feature 70-meter outreach capacity, accommodating twenty-five container units. Additionally, the terminal has received eighteen rubber-tired gantry cranes.
The new terminal’s operational commissioning, featuring a 1,200-meter quay line with 18-meter draft capacity, is projected for completion by year-end.
