The Port of Auckland has secured approval to extend the Fergusson North Wharf by 45 meters, reaching a total length of 340 meters.
While the existing berth can accommodate vessels up to 350 meters through dolphin utilization, quay cranes cannot cover complete ship lengths, frequently requiring vessel repositioning during operations.
The expansion initiative is projected to require twelve months for completion and will enable the facility to service vessels with capacities up to 10,000 TEU.
