Everllence will supply five compressor trains for Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT Power) and the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP). The projects form part of the UK’s East Coast Cluster, a major government-backed decarbonisation effort in northeast England.

NZT Power will be the UK’s first commercial gas-fired power plant with full carbon capture and storage. It will generate 740 MW of low-carbon electricity, enough to power more than one million homes, while capturing up to 2 million tonnes of CO₂ a year. NEP, led by bp, Equinor and TotalEnergies, will transport and store the captured CO₂ offshore under the North Sea. Its network is designed to handle up to 10 million tonnes annually.

Everllence will provide compressors for both low-pressure and high-pressure CO₂ handling. Two geared compressors will manage wet CO₂, while three barrel compressors will prepare dry CO₂ for offshore transmission. Together, the systems will compress over 370,000 kg of CO₂ per hour. The package also includes digital twin technology and machine learning tools to optimise efficiency.

CEO Dr. Uwe Lauber said the project shows how flexible gas plants can support net-zero goals when paired with CCS. “We’re proud to contribute with our compression expertise to help the UK meet its climate targets,” he said.
