The Evergreen-operated containership Ever Feat berthed in Montevideo on the afternoon of 29 July, following a stack collapse off the coast of Brazil. The vessel, en route south from Navegantes, had suffered structural damage amid heavy seas encountered near Rio Grande.
Upon arrival at Montevideo, port authorities reported that between 30 and 40 containers had been badly damaged, with at least two 40-foot units seen hanging dangerously over the ship’s side, posing an imminent risk of falling overboard. Airborne imagery and dockside videos suggest that two container bays were affected, with stacks collapsed and shards of cargo tumbling toward the water
The Ever Feat encountered rough weather off the Brazilian coast—likely severe wind and wave impact—resulting in container stacks toppling and internal damage to cargo securing systems. Several containers were found to contain fertilisers.
The 12,100 teu Ever Feat, launched in May 2021 as part of Evergreen Marine’s F‑class series, was constructed by Imabari Shipbuilding in Japan and flies the Liberian flag.
