Commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) owner Integrated Wind Solutions has secured the first contract for a newly delivered vessel.
The contract was awarded to its subsidiary, IWS Fleet, and its fifth CSOV, IWS Moonwalker. The vessel will work under a 200-day charter contract plus options with an undisclosed existing client.
According to the company, the charter will begin in September 2025, following the vessel’s arrival in Europe.
The company said on Wednesday that the vessel was delivered from the shipyard China Merchants Industry Holdings, and the vessel is currently en route to Europe.
The vessel, which was ordered in January 2023, was delivered in line with the original yard price of approximately €52.5m ($61.8m).
The vessel is purpose-built to provide services to offshore wind farms. It is the fifth in a series of six identical sister vessels, with the final vessel, the IWS Sunwalker, also scheduled for delivery in 2025.
“We are pleased to successfully take delivery of our fifth CSOV, IWS Moonwalker, which has also secured its first charter contract. This is our fifth consecutive vessel to secure a charter contract before it arrives in Europe,” said Christopher Andersen Heidenreich, COO and managing director of IWS Fleet.
