Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) Group, one of the largest operators of integrated economic zones, together with its strategic client Metal Park, has announced the launch of the first phase of Metal Park’s cutting-edge Storage Hub.

This facility will provide top-tier storage solutions and support services for businesses in the region.

Located in the KEZAD Free Zone, the Metal Park Storage Hub is the world’s first pay-as-you-go storage solution for the metal industry and the first independent warehouse dedicated to metal storage.

Metal Park plans to develop the US$28 million Storage Hub in three phases, ultimately offering a total storage capacity of 350,000MT and 54,000CBM of shelved storage exclusively for metals.

Phase one covers approximately 93,000 sqm and includes 26 overhead cranes with capacities of up to 40MT, 55 loading bays for trucks and automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and the ability to load and offload up to 48,000MT daily.

Furthermore, the facility features vertical storage, a truck-loading bay with a cantilever system, and three weighbridges—two measuring 15 meters (150MT capacity each) and one measuring 30 meters (150MT capacity). Operating as a gated community, the Storage Hub is secured with 24/7 surveillance.

Abdullah Al Hameli, CEO οf Economic Cities & Free Zones, AD Ports Group commented: “The opening of the first-of-its-kind Storage Hub marks a significant milestone in the journey of Metal Park as well as AD Ports Group’s Economic Cities & Free Zones. We are proud to support the growth and expansion of a specialised zone in the metal sector that is offering outstanding services and bringing exclusive business benefits to the metals industry.”

Strategically positioned in the KEZAD Free Zone, the facility offers seamless connectivity via direct access to Khalifa Port, the Etihad Rail network, and major highways linking Abu Dhabi to the Northern Emirates and the wider GCC region.
