The Oakland Board of Port Commissioners has approved the Port’s Strategic Plan for 2025-2030, outlining a comprehensive blueprint for the next five years.

The plan prioritizes market growth, job creation, and the modernization of the facilities and operations, reflecting the Californian port’s commitment to progress and innovation.

“The Port is a growing, vibrant center for regional and international commerce, travel, recreation, and clean energy innovation,“ said Port of Oakland Commission President Michael Colbruno. “The Port will continue to leverage its assets for business and economic development, while maximizing benefits for our local residents.”

Key goals in the strategic plan include capturing market growth to expand Oakland port’s economic base, modernizing and upgrading infrastructure, transitioning to zero-emissions operations while enhancing climate resilience, and maximizing the value and revenue potential of its land use. The plan also emphasizes workforce training, job development, and creating opportunities for local businesses and community economic development.

“We are optimistic about the Port of Oakland’s future. As we modernize and upgrade the Port’s infrastructure, we will capture market growth and create opportunities for jobs,” stated Danny Wan, Port of Oakland Executive Director.
