Danish box line Maersk has announced the replacement of the Bremerhaven port call with Hamburg on its Middle East to Europe (ME2) service.

Effective from 21 March, Maersk vessels will call at the port of Hamburg, instead of Bremerhaven, with the Danish carrier aiming to enhance its service offering and ensure more consistent schedules.

The updated port rotation will be Colombo (Sri Lanka) – Chennai (India) – Colombo – Algeciras (Spain) – Rotterdam (the Netherlands) – London Gateway (UK) – Hamburg (Germany) – Tangier (Morocco).

The first vessel deployed on the new rotation will be the 2015-built, Singaporean-flagged Maersk Stadelhorn.
