Sandeep Sandhu was appointed as General Manager for Kongsberg Discovery Canada in August 2024. In his new role, he oversees Kongsberg Discovery’s operations in both Canada and the United States.

Sandeep Sandhu was appointed as the interim general manager of KUTL, now known as Kongsberg Discovery US, LLC, in July this year. The main office is located in Lynnwood, Seattle, and houses approximately 35 employees, with additional team members across the United States.

He will also maintain his position as general manager of Kongsberg Discovery Canada. Sandhu will work closely with the management team and the board to establish the most effective organizational structure for the market and its customers.

Kongsberg Discovery, a division of the KONGSBERG group, focuses on developing technology aimed at the sustainable management of marine resources, climate change monitoring, critical infrastructure, and national security.

With nearly three decades of presence in North America, the company is well-established in the region.

In line with its growth strategy, the US branch of Kongsberg Discovery is undergoing a name change from Kongsberg Underwater Technology Inc (KUTL) to Kongsberg Discovery US, LLC. President Martin Wien Fjell expressed satisfaction at seeing an internal candidate like Sandeep Sandhu assume greater responsibilities within the company, furthering its growth in this important region.

“Sandhu and his leadership team have expanded the business in Canada. I am confident he is the right person to lead Kongsberg Discovery and grow the business in the US, as well as continue to develop the market in Canada,” stated President Martin Wien.

Before joining Kongsberg Discovery, Sandhu gained extensive leadership experience in the technology sector. He officially stepped into his new role on 1 September.

“He has relevant expertise and the right mindset, and I look forward to continuing to work with him in his leadership to deliver on our ambitious targets,” added Fjell.

Sandhu highlights the considerable potential of the Canadian and US markets for the company and has already developed a strategy to grow Kongsberg Discovery’s market share in this region.

“The company has significant potential in both Canada and the US, and I am excited for what our teams will be able to deliver. Being able to spend more time in the US and getting to know our customers, partners, and our team in the weeks to come will be a key priority. I’m grateful for this opportunity,” he stated.
