Kalmar has agreed to deliver five heavy terminal tractors to Seehafen Wismar, a German marine terminal operator.

The deal, which also includes a four-year Kalmar Complete Care service agreement, was recorded in Kalmar’s Q4 2024 order intake. The delivery of the equipment is planned for the second quarter of the next year.

Michael Kremp, Managing Director of Seehafen Wismar, commented: “Kalmar has proven to be a reliable long-term partner, supporting us with high-quality equipment solutions backed by excellent local support on site. The new terminal tractors will be a welcome addition to our fleet as we seek to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of the services we offer to our customers.”

Located on the southernmost coast of the Baltic Sea, Wismar Seaport is strategically positioned to facilitate goods movement within the Baltic region, Germany, and throughout Europe. The port boasts connections via road, rail, and sea, handling around eight million tonnes of cargo annually.

Seehafen Wismar’s current equipment portfolio features Kalmar heavy terminal tractors as well as electric and diesel-powered forklift trucks. Among their various functions, the heavy terminal tractors are primarily used to transport logs on trailers between the port and a nearby sawmill.

Matias Schalien, Director of Sales and Product Management at Kalmar’s Terminal Tractors, said: “We are proud to continue our long-term collaboration with Seehafen Wismar by supporting them with their fleet renewal programme and equipment maintenance. The combination of reliable, durable equipment supported by agile on-site local maintenance allows Seehafen Wismar to focus on their core operations.”
