Shearwater Geoservices has revealed a third contract win in India within a week, this time from state-run explorer Oil India.
The Bergen-based seismic vessel player will carry out a large 2D towed streamer survey covering 14,500 line km on the east coast of India in the Bay of Bengal.
The five-month project, set to start in early 2025, is part of India’s National Seismic Program (NSP). Another NSP deal was announced last week, with the 2010-built vessel SW Thuridur starting operations on the continental shelf margin off the west coast of India in the fourth quarter of 2024.
“This contract marks the second NSP survey, and third towed streamer project awarded to Shearwater for this season in India, emphasizing our strong position in the Asia Pacific region,” said Irene Waage Basili, CEO of Shearwater.”
Earlier in November, Shearwater also received a letter of award from ONGC for a large 3D survey, covering an area of about 2,200 sq km, which will be executed by the 2011-built Oceanic Sirius.
