Tim Wilkins has been promoted to become the managing director of the International Association of Independent Tanker Owners (INTERTANKO) having been with the organisation since 1999. There’s also been a change in chairman.
Wilkins will take over from Katharina Stanzel on January 1. Stanzel, who has headed up since 2012, has decided to step down from the international shipping body.
“My focus will be on shaping a sustainable future for the tanker industry by supporting members through the decarbonisation transition, safeguarding the future of our seafarers and actively addressing the complex geopolitical challenges we face,” Wilkins said.
Meanwhile, Rolf Westfal-Larsen has been elected to succeed Paolo d’Amico as chairman of INTERTANKO.
